Recently I saw a person walking down the street with a cat stretched out over his forearms. I stopped to ask if he needed help. “Nope. Just out for a morning walk.” The cat looked relaxed, limbs draping in every direction, and generally happy spending time with His Person.
I’ve learned that adventuring with one’s cat is getting popular. Instagram constantly targets me with videos of cats zooming on toboggans, riding on a skier’s shoulders, or scouting the water at the front of a paddleboard.
There’s even a podcast with training tips. One piece of advice I heard was “understand what motivates your cat.” In the case of my two kitties, I’d guess their motivations are snacks, sunbeams, and avoiding sleds, skiers, and paddleboards. And hats... definitely, yes… avoiding all hats.
